More! Chain Link Love

Yesterdays post highlighted my love for all things chain link. I restrained myself from buying more chain link bracelets... but I found some that you may be interested in? Aren't they cute? The Etsy Seller, DeezdoggBling, which is featured in the #5-8 bracelets, is so talented! I love the bright, funky fabrics she uses in her pieces. Check her out!

Chain Link Love

Online shopping is so much fun. In fact, it's way too much fun. Why? Because it is WAY easier to click "buy" versus pulling out your wallet and paying with actual cash money. But... that overwhelming sense of excitement you get when you arrive home to find a package sitting on your doorstep is sometimes worth it. I had some fun shopping on Etsy the other day and bought 3 new chain link bracelets. The middle one is actually two chains on one bracelet.

Check out these Etsy sellers! They have more fab stuff :)

The Trendy Cobra Stitch Lanyard Gimp and Chain Bracelet is on the left. The Gold Chain Bracelet is shown in the middle. And Double Back and Gold Bracelet is on the right.

Which one of your favorite?

Backless Love

I love the look of backless shirts and dresses. If done right, the backless look can look elegant, sexy and even sophisticated. Done wrong, and you can look like a hooker. True story.

For those of us doing the backless thing... built-in bras, breast petals and those awkward (but totally worth it) sticky cutlets are key. We don't want a floppy boob or a nipple slip, right ladies!?

Check out these soso sexy backless looks. I want them all!

Bacon and Cerveza Shrimp Tacos with Cilantro Lime Sour Cream

Let me introduce you to my little friend... the Bacon and Cerveza Shrimp Taco with Cilantro Lime Sour Cream.
This taco punches a lot of flavor into a little tortilla. And the best part is you can drink one of the main ingredients as you cook- cerveza!
This is the perfect date night food in my opinion...or at least my boyfriend thought so!

Prep: 10 minutes | Cook: 15 minutes | Yield: 2 servings

Taco Ingredients:
4 flour tortillas
1/2 pound medium deveined shrimp
1 avocado, sliced or diced
2 tablespoons crumbled cotija cheese
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
juice of 1/2 a lime
2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped

1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup mexican beer
1/4 cup crumbled bacon
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
salt and pepper to taste

Cilantro Lime Sour Cream Ingredients:
1/4 cup sour cream
Juice of half a lime
1/4 teaspooon cumin
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons cialntro, chopped
1 tablespoon crumbled cotija cheese

Directions:
Turn oven on to broil. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, cumin, cayenne pepper, chili powder, mexican beer and juice of half a lime. Add in shrimp and toss to coat completely. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

In a small bowl, whisk together ingredients for cilantro lime sour cream. Set aside.

Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 8 minutes. Crumble into a small bowl. Set aside.

Cook shrimp in a skillet on medium heat until pink and cooked through, about 5 minutes. Turn off heat and cover to keep warm.

While shrimp is cooking, sprinkle cheddar cheese on the 4 tortillas, place on a baking sheet, and place in oven. Broil for 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is melted and tortillas are crisping up. When done, arrange tortillas on a serving plate.

Spoon shrimp mixture into the tortillas. Top with avocado, cialntro, cotija cheese, bacon and cilantro sour cream mixture.

If Money Was No Object

As I mentioned before, I thought I had last week's $500 Million Lottery on lock down. Convinced I was going to win, I let my imagination run away with me... a girl can dream can't she?
Here are some unbelievably expensive but lovely to look at pieces presented in three different themes:

It's in the Details

Mom was right. It's the little things that make a difference.
This perspective can be applied to many things, including design.

Just like accessorizing an outfit, you have to accessorize your home. A small trinket here and a special keepsake there can make all the difference into making a space your very own.

Below are some examples of how a small statement piece, a bold color or an interesting pattern can transform a space into something special.

Coffee Table Books

I got my tax return money back a few days ago and truth be told... I blew a modest amount on a bunch of coffee table books that I've been wanting for a very long time.

There are many books out there that are as stylishly put together on the outside as they are on the inside. Many of these are great for decor purposes just as much as they are for reading purposes!

I am slightly obsessed. Anyone else out there feel the same way?

Gold Rush

As I mentioned in a previous post, my boyfriend and I are on the hunt for our very first home together (non-rental woohoo!). He keeps teasing me about my love of gold... he thinks I'm going to decorate our place like a Trump Tower. It's true- I do love gold. I think it makes everything look warm and inviting... not gaudy!

What do you guys think?
Here are some golden pieces that I think are sophisticated and cool :)
Enjoy...

Forever 21 Lookbook

Have you heard of Charlotte Free? I would describe her as a punk ballerina. This pink-haired model embodies both feminine cool and metro grunge. I don't know if it is pink hair or her "I don't give a ...." attitude, but I think she's great!

She is center stage in the latest Forever 21 lookbook. What's the lookbook look like? Think bright prints, colorblocking, and cropped pieces. Shop the look HERE
